We collect information from you in the following ways Information provided by you: The types of information which we collect from you include the following information you provide when you register with the Service for a member account, when you log-in to your member account, when you act as a moderator in reviewing the professional profiles of other members, or when you upload documents and other materials to the Service:
If you refuse to provide your profile information (such as your full name, gender, birth date, email address, website information, digital wallet information, and telephone number) and username and password, you will be unable to register for a member account and to use the Service.
As the Service is intended for members to validate their professional profiles and develop their professional networks, information you provide to us (except your member account password) will be posted online and can be viewed by the public worldwide. Please do not submit any information to us which you would not want to be publicly available. Please note that search engines may index information which you make public.
Information provided by third parties: We receive personal data about you when moderators review your professional profile, other members endorse your skills and accomplishments, or when other members add you to a Company Page. Information collected automatically through your use of the Service : We automatically collect certain information regarding your use of the Service, including (as applicable) your: - device and connection information, such as unique device identifier, operating system version, hardware model, browser type and version, mobile platform, and mobile network information; - log information, such as internet protocol address, uniform resource locator, clickstream data, search queries and visited pages; and - location information. We also use cookies or similar technologies to recognise you or your computer or mobile device(s) for user authentication and log-in purposes. Cookies are small text files that a website sends to the browser on your device when you first visit a web page so that the website can recognise your device the next time you visit. You can adjust your browser settings to disable cookies. However, if you block cookies, you might encounter issues with registration or log-in to the Service and also not be able to use certain functions of the Service.
We may also match or combine the information that you provide with information that we obtain from other sources (including other websites / web applications with which you may have an account and have provided us access to) or that is already in our records, whether collected online or offline, for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
We may use your personal data for any or all of the following purposes: to enable you to use the Service, including to authenticate your identity in connection with your use of the Service and to verify any claims you may make in connection with your professional profile; to enable other members of the Service to view and download your professional profile and other information and to develop their professional networks; to suggest new member contacts and connections to you; to notify you regarding the professional profiles of other members of the Service, including updates to them; to respond to your communications to us; to create, develop, operate, deliver, and improve our services; to detect, diagnose, and fix problems affecting our services; to notify you about updates or changes to our services; to personalise your experience on the Service; for internal business purposes, including research, analysis, testing, and auditing; to notify you of any changes to the Terms, this Privacy Policy, and any other terms and policies that concern your relationship with us; to comply with applicable legal obligations and other rules, regulations, codes of practice, and orders and directions of competent governmental authorities that we are obligated to follow; to prevent, detect, investigate, and prosecute threats, fraud, misconduct, or unlawful activity; to enforce our agreements and resolve disputes; to protect our rights and property and the rights, property, and safety of others; and to send informational and marketing communications to you, including invitations to participate in surveys and promotions, only where you have expressly consented to receiving such communications. Sharing and Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Data We share your personal data in the following ways: Other members: Your professional profile and other information will be available to and downloadable by other members of the Service. Third party online services: If you link your member account to your accounts with third party social networks or online services, your personal data will become available to them. You may cancel the link with such third party online services at any time. Our business partners, service providers, professional advisers, vendors, and agents : Your personal data may be accessible to our business partners, service providers, professional advisers, vendors, and agents that provide services to us (including those that provide data storage, maintenance, legal, audit, insurance, and marketing services) in connection with the operation of Beraty, or the operation and development of the Service. Our potential investors, purchasers, and commercial counterparties : We may share your personal data with any person who wishes to invest in Beraty or the Service or whom we intend to enter into a business combination with (such as a purchase, sale, lease, merger, or amalgamation, or any other acquisition, disposal, or financing). Governmental and regulatory authorities: We may share your personal data with competent governmental and regulatory agencies, including investigating officers and judicial authorities. Any information which we share with third parties under this paragraph 4.1 shall be used for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including as provided in paragraph 3 ( Use of Personal Data) above.
We may also share your personal data with other third parties if you have separately consented to such disclosure. In such case, any information which we share with such third parties shall be used for the purposes described when we obtained your consent. We may share your personal data with any other person where such disclosure is required or permitted under applicable law or regulation, and we may be prevented from obtaining your consent for, or informing you of, such disclosure. Any information which we share in this circumstance shall be used for the purposes required or permitted under applicable law or regulation. We retain your personal data at all times while your member account exists and we reserve the right to retain your personal data at any time thereafter, if required for legal or business purposes. We also reserve the right to retain and use your information after you close your member account, provided that such information cannot be used to identify an individual and thus does not constitute personal data.
Subject to exceptions under applicable law, you may request access to your personal data that we collected in connection with the Service and information about how we have used and disclosed your personal data within a year before your request. Subject to exceptions under applicable law, you may also request to review and correct any of that personal data. Additional rights may also apply under applicable laws. We reserve the right to charge a nominal fee in respect of our costs in processing your request for access to personal data. The Service may allow members to access their profile information and make corrections or updates. The accuracy of such information is solely the responsibility of the member. Other personal data that may have been collected about members may only be accessed through an access request as set out in paragraph 6.1 above. You may decide at any time to withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data in any manner or for a particular purpose. However, please note that any withdrawal of your consent may have consequences, including your inability to use the Service or parts thereof, or our inability to provide you with any service update notifications or other support services available via the Service from time to time. Please also note that notwithstanding the withdrawal of your consent, we reserve the right to retain your personal data for as long as is necessary for our legal or business purposes. Any request for access to or correction of personal data, or any notice for withdrawal of consent to use personal data should be addressed to our data protection officer according to paragraph 8 ( Contacting Us) below. To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing any access or correction request or withdrawal notice under paragraph 6.1 above. You may also withdraw consent to the use of your personal data by deleting your member account in the Service. In general, we will endeavour to delete your personal data, or any information which may identify you, within 15 days from the deletion of your member account.
We reserve the right to update, modify, or otherwise make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted to the Service. A notification may also be sent to the email address you have provided to us. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will take effect and be binding on you from the time of posting the changes to the Service. If you continue to use the Service following any changes to this Privacy Policy, you will be deemed to have accepted the changes and the updated version of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, please stop using the Service and delete your member account to the Service. Please ensure that you refer to this Privacy Policy on a regular basis to check for any changes.
